Alseny Sylla, Master Drummer of Guinea
Explore the timeless rhythms and movement of West Africa as Master Drummer Alseny Sylla and his children play ancient rhythms on ethnic percussion instruments from Guinea and Ivory Coast. Travel across oceans and continents to the land where songs are sung in Jula and SuSu. Djembe-kan, translated as ‘drum song’, will invite audiences of all ages to sing and dance in games played in the homes and schoolyards of children in West Africa today.
