Echo
a Mexican Free-tail bat, is the mascot for the Austin Public Library's Youth Services Division. E.C.H.O. stands for Every Child Has Opportunities and she is appropriately named to describe the purpose of ECHO's special events.

Bat Facts: Bats are predators of night-flying insects. A single brown bat can consume 600 mosquitoes in an hour!
