Artists & Educators

Diana M. Cox and Lakota
Diana has taught PPCD (Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities) for 10 years (with 7 years at Wooten Elementary in Austin). Two years ago, she trained her service dog, Lakota through the Delta Society for Animal Assisted Activities(AAA). She lives in the country (Dale) with her husband, Tom, her daughter Jessica (who is a pre-vet major!)—and LOTS of animals!

Lakota is a 5 year old, 100 pound German shepherd with a heart of gold. He loves being with children. In the classroom, he enjoys having books read to him and lying by your side while you practice reading to him.

Together, Diana and Lakota help children perfect their reading skills along with developing empathy and love for animals.
