  • 136 participants in Summer Reading Program (SRP.06).
  • Met with 868 students during book talk sessions and book clubs.
  • 11 special presentations with 803 students.
  • 20,837 books circulated.
  • 52 staff members led programs with 859 students

2005

  • Conducted first Summer Reading Program (SRP.05). 156 participants.
  • Met with 880 students during book talk sessions (stats include 11/2005).
  • 10 special programs with 397 students (stats include 11/2005).
  • 10,027 books circulated (stats include 10/2005).
  • 2005 Survey results:
    • 52% of students surveyed reported that they never used the library before Gardner Betts, however only 9% said that they would still never use the library after they were released.
    • Reading preferences in preferential order:  In fiction, mystery/suspense, horror, adventure, and realistic fiction topped the list for the second year running. In non-fiction, true crime, music, poetry, drawing, and sports topped the list. It is interesting to note that the non-fiction categories remained the same, but were in a different order than 2004.

2004

  • Satellite Library established at the Gardner Betts facility in November.
  • 1,971 books circulated.
  • Met with 308 students during book talk sessions.
  • 7 special programs with 240 students attending.
  • 2004 Survey results:
    • 32% of students surveyed reported that they never used the library before Gardner Betts, however only 15% said that they would still never use a library after they were released.
    • Reading preferences in preferential order:  In fiction, mystery/suspense, horror, adventure, and realistic fiction top the list. In non-fiction, true-crime, sports, poetry, and music top the list.

2003

  • Second Chance Books Program was created.
  • 3 special programs with 137 students attending.
